Tamzin Outhwaite (born 5 November 1970), is an English actress, best known for her portrayal of Melanie Owen in the British soap opera EastEnders. She currently serves as the lead role, Sasha Miller, in the BBC crime drama New Tricks.
Early Life[]
Outhwaite was born to Colin Frank Outhwaite and Anna Santi in Ilford, London. She has two younger brothers, Kes and Jake Outhwaite. In 1987, upon leaving school, she joined the London Studio Centre to study drama and dance before pursuing a career in acting.

- Outhwaite appeared in New Tricks prior to her role as Sasha Miller - see Love Means Nothing In Tennis. This role has no connection to her current one as Sasha Miller.
- Both Outhwaite and her on-screen counterpart, Sasha Miller, have been divorced. They both also, as of 2014, have two children.
- In order to better establish her own unique character, she had never watched any episode of New Tricks prior to getting the part - she still praises Amanda Redman's performance and hopes she can live up to her name.
