Series 9 of New Tricks aired on 27 August 2012 and subsequently ended on 22 October 2013. It is notable for being the last series to feature Jack Halford played by James Bolam and also the first to feature Steve McAndrew played by Denis Lawson.

It was commissioned by the BBC, along with the succeeding series, on 6 September 2011.[1]
